With Launch Sunday behind us, we shift our focus to Launch Season at Kaleo Church.

We're so thankful for the prayers, financial support, and sharing of skills and talents that many of you as individuals and as congregations have given to us. To those who came out to support our first official service, thank you for being there. If you were not able to visit, you can watch the sermon here.

From the very beginning of this journey, there was a different vision & different model God put on Pastor Rachael's heart.

  • Lots of things don't make sense with God.
  • It didn't make sense that David should go against Goliath.
  • It didn't make sense for Gideon to go from 30,000 to 300.
  • It didn't make sense for Noah to build an ark.
  • It didn't make sense for Esther to go before the king uninvited.
  • It didn't make sense for Jesus to pick 12 ordinary, uneducated men to build the foundation of the Church.
  • Sometimes things just don't make sense.

As a missional church, we are focused on celebrating kingdom wins that may be easy to miss.

Here's what we're celebrating:

  • Testimony shared: Someone has found the community and family they've always longed to have. The same person has been taking discipleship classes & intentionally praying for God to bring her someone to pour into. She is excited to explore more about what it looks like for God to use her passions and talents for the kingdom. Through learning how to study and apply the Word, she has fallen in love with Jesus!
  • We had several people in attendance who haven't been in a church for a while and one who isn't even sure she wants anything to do with church. But she still came. Seeds were still planted.
  • We have a young lady singing on the worship team who has never done that before but here she is, stepping out into something new and learning how to contribute to serving the body of believers.
  • Another young lady who started discipleship class with Pastor Rachael about 6 weeks ago has already been discipling another person for a month now. Spiritual parents and grandparents are being made!!
  • We have two people who are committed to our Fall Discipleship Program called "Live Sent" (available through The Wesleyan Church) and we haven't even officially rolled that info out to the congregation yet! We're praying for more to get involved and learn about their purpose, calling and living an intentional life for Christ.

The packed house of supporters yesterday did indeed bring joy to our hearts and gave us expectancy for what is to come. Over half of those people will be in their home church next week. 25% of the chairs will be back in the storage closet, waiting for the time when we need them out every week. But the sounds of fellowship taking place before service, the sound of a full sanctuary lifting praise to God, and the sight of believers worshipping together give us a reminder of what our future congregation may look like. Only instead of being visitors from other churches, it will be new believers, captives set free, fully committed followers of Christ, and mature believers answering the call to go when Jesus calls.

Thank you for supporting and praying for us all these months. We have a long way to go - there will always be people to be equipped and sent because there will always be people who need us to go, love, and serve.
